Exploring memories of Hampton Square, the housing that was once on the site of the Sheen Lane Centre, and of the Watneys Brewery building that is now being converted into flats.
Two wall panels have been installed in the entrance to the Sheen Lane Centre, which houses a library, day centre and community hall, including extracts from oral history interviews carried out for the project, and photographs collected from local residents and from the Barnes & Mortlake History Society collection at Richmond Borough Archives.
Commissioned by the Richmond Arts Service at Orleans House Gallery.
Any queries regarding images and text contained in the wall panels, and research into Hampton Square, should be directed to the Barnes & Mortlake History Society and Richmond Local Studies Library. The wall panels are available to be viewed at the Sheen Lane Centre during their opening hours.
