This page shows a selection of research material so far which I would be building on in the Interchange project, and documentation of a film screening event in the Bakers Almshouses in Leyton in 2025.
The file at the London Archives is related to the Bakers Almshouses in Leyton and shows the process of the almshouses being purchased so that they could be demolished to make way for a gyratory system which never happened, and an idea for a National Museum of Baking being proposed before the buildings were eventually turned into council housing.
This is the start of research which I wish to continue, through expanding it to the Radial Route 6, another road development which never eventually happened, and by speaking to people with knowledge of planning, highways design and other areas, so that I can further understand the process that these schemes go through.
These discoveries will be developed into future work once this research phase has taken place.
