After walking around Canvey Heights the group headed for Canvey Point, where they had a moment's silence in memory of the Concrete Barge which was destroyed by the Island Yacht Club in 2003. The group ignored the Yacht Club's sign that the public footpath was closed and went to the Point to hunt for bits of crockery (Lucy found a sheep's tooth) before finishing for tea at the Shell Beach Cafe.
