The main lecture theatre had red cinema style seats with wooden desks for taking notes. These were covered in graffiti from years of lectures. The double doors were red with wood and metal handles. There were two screens and two slide projectors. There was a large monitor with a VHS desk housed inside a metal case, part of which had been bent in 1995 by a visiting lecturer who had tried to prise it open to access the video equipment. There were steps leading to the back which ran up the middle of the theatre. The floor was either blue or grey. Above the door was a clock which was often 1 hour out for several weeks after the clocks should have been changed. The KIAD lectern stood in the corner. There was often an overhead projector in the room. On leaving the lecture theatre you returned to the corridor, foyer and door to the gallery.
